Data of different states regarding population of states in the year 1998

Total population of the given states = 32760000

What was the ratio of the number of females in Arunachal Pradesh to the number of females in Uttar Pradesh?

Options:

21 : 50

25 : 16

16 : 25

50 : 21

Correct Answer:

25 : 16

Explanation:

Population of Arunachal pradesh = 25% of 3276000

= \(\frac{1}{4}\) × 32760000 = 8190000

Ratio of male to female = 5 : 3

Number of female = \(\frac{3}{8}\) × 8190000 = 3071250

Population of uttar pradesh = 15% of 3276000

= \(\frac{3}{20}\) × 32760000 = 4914000

Ratio of male to female = 3 : 2

Number of female = \(\frac{2}{5}\) × 4914000 = 1965600

Required ratio , 3071250  : 1965600

= 25 : 16
