Courses % passed out
A 76
B 82
C 80
D 90
E 75

If the total number of students is 60000, then the total number of students who did not pass in the courses A,C is:

Options:

7852

4992

8254

7628

Correct Answer:

4992

Explanation:

Total number of students = 60000

Number of students in A = \(\frac{18 }{100}\) × 60000 = 10800

Number of failed students = Total number of students - Number of passed students

Number of failed students in A = \(\frac{100-76 }{100}\) × 10800

= \(\frac{24 }{100}\) × 10800

= 2592

Number of students in C = \(\frac{20 }{100}\) × 60000 = 12000

Number of failed students in A = \(\frac{100-80 }{100}\) × 12000

= \(\frac{20 }{100}\) × 12000

= 2400

Total number of failed students in A and C = 2592 + 2400 = 4992
