If tan θ + cot θ = 2, then what is the value of tanθ - cot θ ?

We are given that :-

tan θ + cot θ = 2

Let us assume that ,  θ = 45º

tan45º + cot45º = 2

1 + 1 = 2

2 = 2   ( LHS = RHS )

So, θ = 45º 

Now,

tan θ - cot θ

= tan 45º - cot 45º 

= 1 - 1

= 0
