A car moves at the speed of 108 km/hr after repairing and moves at the speed of 72 km/hr before repairing. it covers a distance of x km in 3 hours after repairing. How much time will it take to cover a distance of 5x km before repairing ?

Options:

25 hours 20 minutes

24 hours

20 hours 40 minutes

22 hours 30 minutes

Correct Answer:

22 hours 30 minutes

Explanation:

Distance = Speed × Time

After repairing , Speed =  108 km/h

Distance covered = 108 × 3 = 324 km

5x = 5 × 324 = 1620 km

Time taken to  cover 1620 km before repairing .

Time = \(\frac{Distance }{Speed}\)

= \(\frac{1620 }{72}\)

= 22 hours 30 minutes
