Question:

The average age of a man and his son is 55 years. The ratio of their ages is 7 : 4, respectively. What will be the ratio of their ages after 6 years?

Options:

1 : 2

12 : 7

25 : 17

38 : 23

Correct Answer:

38 : 23

Explanation:

ATQ,

Lets assume, present age of man is 7x and son is 4x

Sum of ages of father and son = 55 x 2 = 110

Given, 7x + 4x = 110

         ⇒ x = 10

After 6 years, father's age = 76

                     son's age = 46

Ratio of their ages after 6 years = 38:23
