Question:

The area of a triangle is 480 cm2 and the ratio of its sides is 10: 24: 26. What is the perimeter of the triangle?

Options:

120 cm

30 cm

150 cm

60 cm

Correct Answer:

120 cm

Explanation:

We know that,

Area of right angled triangle = \(\frac{1}{2}\) × Base × Height

If a triangle has the ratio of its sides = 10: 24: 26, then it must be a right angled triangle.

The given area of the triangle = 480

then ,

\(\frac{1}{2}\) × 10a × 24a = 480

120a2 = 480

a = 2

Then the perimeter of the triangle =

10x  + 24x  + 26x = 60x.

= 60 × 2 = 120
