A, B and C can finish a piece of work in 12 days, 15 days and 20 days respectively. They start the work together but A left the job after 6 days before and C left the job 2 days before completion of the work. In how many days the total work finished? |

Efficiency of (A + B + C) = 5 + 4 + 3 = 12 In these type of conditions: i) If A works for 6 days more, extra work will be = 6 × 5 = 30 and ii) If C works for 2 days more, extra work will be = 2 × 3 = 6 Now, **Total work = 60 + 30 + 6 = 96 which is to be done by A, B and C together and the time taken in this case is always equal to the time taken by A, B and C in the the given condition.** Hence, Work will be completed in = \(\frac{96}{12}\) = 8 days |
