Answer & explanation
Correct answer: option 4
The correct answer is Option (4) → C, A, B, D
Maslow said that every person has five needs arranged in a hierarchy. A higher need starts to motivate a person only when the need below it is largely satisfied.
C. Hunger — first. It is a basic physiological need, the most basic need of all, along with thirst, shelter and sleep. In a job, the basic salary meets it.
A. Stability of income — second. It is a safety or security need: protection from physical and emotional harm. Job security and a pension plan are other examples.
B. Friendship — third. It is an affiliation or belonging need: the need for affection, acceptance and friendship. At work, cordial relations with colleagues meet it.
D. Status — fourth. It is an esteem need: self-respect, status and recognition. A job title is an example. Above it comes only self-actualisation, the need to become what one is capable of becoming.
