Question:

The area of a square shaped field is $1764 \mathrm{~m}^2$. The breadth of a rectangular park is $\frac{1}{3} r d$ the side of the square field and its length is two times its breadth. What is the cost (in ₹) of levelling the park at ₹ 15 per $m^2$ ?

Options:

4290

4200

5880

4320

Correct Answer:

5880

Explanation:

We know that,

Area of square = side2

Area of rectangle = length × breadth

We have,

Area of a square field = 1764 sq.m

According to the question,

Side of square field = \(\sqrt {1764 }\)  = 42 m

Breadth of rectangular field = 42 × \(\frac{1}{3}\) = 14 m

Length of rectangular field = 14 × 2 = 28 m

Area of rectangular field = 14 × 28 = 392 sq.m

So, Cost of levelling park = 15 × 392 = Rs.5880
