The deadline technique |
The correct answer is Option (2) → The deadline technique The deadline technique is a compliance strategy in which people are more likely to act when they know that time is running out. The sense of urgency or a closing window of opportunity motivates people to comply or respond before it's too late.In this case, although students are informed well in advance, they tend to submit research papers only close to the deadline, influenced by the psychological pressure of the approaching final date. Hence, this is a clear example of the deadline technique. The deadline technique : In this technique, a ‘last date’ is announced until which a particular product or ‘an offer’ will be available. The aim is to make people ‘hurry’ and make the purchase before they miss the rare opportunity. It is more likely that people will buy a product under this deadline condition than if there is no such deadline. Note: This question is from the prerationalised texbook of NCERT. |
