| In Nagaland, handicrafts come naturally to the Nagas master craftsmen can create anything from a small paper knife to large and trendy pieces of furniture using cane and bamboo. It provides the body and the soul for traditional architecture, crafts and tools, besides being the states major commercial produce for paper and textile industries. The Govt. of Nagaland has implemented The Bamboo Policy framework which encourages and promotes establishment of bamboo enterprises and industries in cottage, small and medium industries sectors linked to the need of bamboo produce/products within and outside the State. Bamboo based Industries like Food Products; Medicinal, Chemical Products and Alcohol Beverages; Craft, handicraft and Art Products; Value added products and wood substitutes such as ply, flooring tiles, shuttering, etc would be given impetus in the first phase of its implementation as it would lead to conservation of the Natural resources.
