Change the following sentence into Indirect Speech :
I said to my brother, "Don't tell a lie."
Answer & explanation
Correct answer: option 1
The correct transformation of the sentence into Indirect Speech is:OPTION 1 I advised my brother not to tell a lie.
In the given sentence, the original direct speech is: "Don't tell a lie." In indirect speech, the reporting verb changes from "said" to "advised," and the imperative sentence is transformed into a reporting clause with the infinitive "to" structure. Therefore, the correct transformation is: "I advised my brother not to tell a lie."
