Question:

If $sin^2 x = 3 cos^2 x $ and 0° ≤ x ≤ 90°, then what is the value of $\frac{x}{2}$ ?

Options:

22.5°

45°

15°

30°

Correct Answer:

30°

Explanation:

sin²x = 3cos²x

tan²x = 3

tanx = \(\sqrt {3 }\)

{ tan 60º = \(\sqrt {3 }\) }

So, x = 60º

Now,

\(\frac{x }{2}\) = \(\frac{ 60º }{2}\)

= 30º
