The ratio of the age of Ram and Mukesh 10 years ago was 1 : 3.  The ratio of their age five years hence will be 2 : 3, then the ratio of the their present age is?

   1     :        3   →  10 years ago

   2     :        3   →  5 years hence

ATQ,

\(\frac{x + 15}{3x + 15}\) = \(\frac{2}{3}\)

3x + 45 = 6x + 30

15 = 3x

x = 5

Therefore,

⇒ 10 years ago Ram's age = 5 yrs

⇒ 10 years ago Mukesh's age = 15 yrs

⇒ Present age of Ram = 5 + 10 = 15 yrs

⇒ Present age of Mukesh = 15 + 10 = 25 yrs

Ratio of present age = 15 : 25 = 3 : 5
