A can complete a task in 12 days and B can complete the same task in 18 days. They start working together but A works for only 2 days. The remaining work is completed by B. If the total wage is ₹2,400, then what is B's share (in ₹)?

A = 12 days, B = 18 days,

⇒ A worked for days = 3 x 2 = 6 units,

⇒ Rest work is completed by B = 30 units,

⇒ New efficiency = A : B = 6 : 30 = 1 : 5 

⇒ Total wages = Rs. 2400,

⇒ (1 + 5)x = 2400

⇒ 6x = 2400,

⇒ x = 400,

⇒ B's share = 400 x 5 = Rs. 2000.
