If 6 women can complete a work in 3 days, and 9 girls can complete the same work in 2 days, then find the time taken to complete the same work by 8 women and 6 girls? |
3 days 4 days 6 days 9/7 days |
9/7 days |
6 Women = 3d .. (1) 9 Girls = 2d .. (2) 8 Women + 6 Girls = ? using formula M1D1n1 = M2D2n2, where M = no. of men D = no. of days n = efficiency Putting values in formula and solving it we get, 6 x 3 x n1 = 9 x 2 x n2 n1 : n2 1 : 1 Time x Efficiency = Total work putting in equation (1), 6(1) x 3 = 18 Therefore time taken by 8W and 6G to complete the same work is, = \(\frac{18}{8(1)+6(1)}\) = \(\frac{18}{14}\) = \(\frac{9}{7}\), Answer is \(\frac{9}{7}\) days. |
