A is twice as old as B. 12 years ago A was five times as old as B. Find the present age of A.

Let 12 years ago the age of A = 5x and age of B = x 

Now , according to question 

\(\frac{5x+12}{x+12}\) = \(\frac{2}{1}\)

5x  + 12 = 2x + 24 

3x = 12

x = 4 

so,       

A's Present age = (5 x 4) +12 = 32
