Water cannot flow from one end to another in a perfectly horizontal tube because gravitational force causes the water to flow and here, the two ends are at the same gravitational potential. Similarly, as long as the two ends of a conductor are at same electrical potential, the electric charge cannot flow. There has to be some potential difference. |
