If in Haripur, males infected by COVID-19 was 8436 and in Sitapur, females infected by COVID-19 is 30% less than the females infected by COVID-19 in Haripur, then find out the total number of people infected by COVID-19 in Sitapur.

Options:

16,872

14,763

19,794

13,536

Correct Answer:

14,763

Explanation:

Ratio of male to female infected by COVID-19 in Haripur = 6 : 5

6R = 8436

1R = \(\frac{8436}{6}\)  =  1406

Females infected in Haripur = 1406 × 5 = 7030

Females infected in SItapur = 70% of females infected in Haripur

= \(\frac{7}{10}\) × 7030

= 4921

 Now , Ratio  of male to female infected  in Sitapur = 2 : 1

As , 1R = 4921

So , Total infected population of Sitapur = 3 × 4921 = 14763
