Question:

If A’s income is 40% of B’s income and B’s income is 24% more than C’s income, then by what percentage is C’s income more than A’s income? (Your answer should be correct to one decimal place.)

Options:

104.2

75.6

50.4

101.6

Correct Answer:

101.6

Explanation:

40% = \(\frac{2}{5}\) , 24% = \(\frac{6}{25}\)

Income       A   :  B         &      B   :    C

                  2   :  5                 31  :    25

Overall      A   :    B      :  C

                62  :    155   :  125

Percentage of C's income more than A's income ,

= \(\frac{125 - 62 }{62}\) × 100  = \(\frac{63 }{62}\) × 100

= 101.6%
