Rafi Ahmed Kidwai (1894-1954):
He was a prominent Congress leader from Barabanki district, Uttar Pradesh.
He served as a Minister in U.P. in 1937 and then in 1946 too.
Kidwai held the position of Minister for Communications in Independent India's first ministry.
He launched "night airmail service" & "own your telephone" as the Minister of Communications.
Kidwai served as the Food and Agriculture Minister from 1952 until his untimely demise due to a heart attack in 1954. |
