Which of the following is the largest freshwater lake in the world by volume?
Answer & explanation
Correct answer: option 1
The correct answer is Option (1) → Lake Baikal
Lake Baikal in Siberia, Russia, is the deepest lake in the world (over 1,600 m), so it holds more fresh water than any other lake, about a fifth of the world's unfrozen fresh surface water. Lake Superior is the largest freshwater lake by area, not by volume.
