Question:

Find the volume of a hemisphere whose diameter is 6 cm. (Take π=22/7)

Options:

144π cm3

48π cm3

18π cm3

36π cm3

Correct Answer:

18π cm3

Explanation:

We know that,

Volume of the hemisphere = \(\frac{ 2}{3}\)π (r)3

Radius (r) = \(\frac{ Diameter}{2}\)

= r = \(\frac{ 6}{2}\) = 3 cm

Now Volume of the hemisphere =

V = \(\frac{ 2}{3}\)π (3)3

= V = \(\frac{ 2}{3}\)π (27)

= V = 2 × 9 π = 18π cm3
