Question:

The area of a field in the shape of a regular hexagon is $2400 \sqrt{3}$ m2. The cost of fencing the field at ₹16.80/metre is:

Options:

₹4,536

₹3,024

₹4,032

₹3,528

Correct Answer:

₹4,032

Explanation:

We know that,

Perimeter of hexagonal field = 6 × side

The area of a regular hexagon = \(\frac{3\sqrt {3}}{2}\) side2

According to the question

= 2400\(\sqrt {3}\) = \(\frac{3\sqrt {3}}{2}\)side2

= side = 40 m.

Perimeter of hexagonal field = 6 × 40 = 240 m

Cost of fencing = 16.80 × 240 = Rs.4032
