Question:

A bag contains ten-rupee, five rupees, and two rupee notes in the ratio 10 : 5 : 2. The total value of five rupee notes in the bag is ₹84 more than that of two rupee notes. The total value of ten rupee notes in the bag (in ₹)is:

Options:

350

450

300

400

Correct Answer:

400

Explanation:

Rs. 10 : Rs. 5 : Rs. 2

  10     :   5    :     2

According to the question,

The total value of five rupee notes in the bag is ₹84 more than that of two rupee notes, therefore,

⇒ 25x = 84 + 4x

⇒ 21x = 84

⇒ x = 4

The total value of ten rupee notes in the bag = 10 x Rs. 10 x 4 = Rs. 400.
