Question:

A customer availed a 10% discount on the purchase of a table and paid ₹4,950 for it. How much money would he have saved if he had bargained to get 12% discount?

Options:

₹660

₹99

₹108.90

₹110

Correct Answer:

₹110

Explanation:

The selling price of the table = 4950

Discount = 10%

Required discount = 12%

 Then the cost price of the table =

90% of the CP = 450

100% of the CP = 450 × \(\frac{100}{90}\) = 550

He will save ( 12 - 10) % of 550

So, 2% of 550 = Rs.110
