A boy was asked his age by his friend. The boy said, “The number you get when you subtract 25 times my age from twice the square of my age will be thrice your age”. If the age of his friend is 14 years, then the age of the boy is:

Let the age of boy = x years 

ATQ, 

2x2  - 25x = 3 × 14 

2x2  - 25x = 42

2x2 - 25x - 42 = 0 

by solving, x= 14 and x = - \(\frac{3}{2}\)

so only possible value os x = 14
