Question:

Half of the perimeter of a rectangle is 30 cm. If the length of the rectangle is 6 cm more than its breath, then what is the area of the rectangle ?

Options:

216 cm2

250 cm2

185 cm2

195 cm2

Correct Answer:

216 cm2

Explanation:

We know that,

Perimeter of the rectangle = 2 (length + breadth)

If half of the perimeter of the triangle = 30cm

Then full perimeter of the triangle = 60 cm

Now it is given that, the length of the rectangle is 6 cm more than its breath.

Then let the value of breadth = x then the length will be x+ 6

Now,

2(x + x + 6) = 60

2x + 6 = 30

2x = 24

x = 12 = breadth

x + 6 = 18 = length.

Now the area of the triangle = 12 × 18 = 216 cm2
