Question:

10 horses can graze a field in 14 days, and 10 sheep take 28 days to graze the same field. How many days will 5 horses and 10 sheep take to graze the same field?

Options:

28

10

14

20

Correct Answer:

14

Explanation:

Given,

10 Horses x 14 = 10 Sheep x 28

⇒ H = 2S

⇒ H : S = 2 : 1

⇒ Total work = 10(2) + 14 = 20 x 14 = 280 units,

⇒ Time required by 5 Horses and 10 sheep to complete grazing the field = \(\frac{280}{5(2) + 10(1)}\) = \(\frac{280}{20}\) = 14 days,  ..(\(\frac{Work}{Efficiency}\) = Time)
