Question:

In an experiment four quantities a, b, c and d are measured with percentage error 1%, 2%, 3% and 4% respectively. Quantity P is calculated as follows p=$\frac{a^{3}b^{2}}{cd}$ . Error in P is

Options:

14%

10%

7%

4%

Correct Answer:

14%

Explanation:

p=$\frac{a^{3}b^{2}}{cd}$∴

$\frac{\Delta P}{P}$×100 =$(\frac{3\Delta a}{a}+\frac{2\Delta b}{b}+\frac{\Delta c}{c}+\frac{\Delta d}{d})$×100  =3×1+2×2+3+4 =3+4+3+4=14
