Question:

A man loses 20% of his money and after spending 10% of the remainder, he is left with Rs. 180. How much money had he at first?

Options:

250

300

275

500

Correct Answer:

250

Explanation:

We know that 20% = \(\frac{1}{5}\)

 & 10% = \(\frac{1}{10}\)

If loses 20% then remaining = \(\frac{4}{4}\)

If spending 10% then remaining = \(\frac{9}{10}\)

Let initial amount = Rs. x

ATQ,

x × \(\frac{4}{5}\) × \(\frac{9}{10}\) = 180

x = 250
