Question:

Two trains start at the same time from two stations and proceed towards each other at speeds of 50 km/h and 80 km/h respectively.  When they meet, it is found that one train has travelled 120 kms more than the other.  What is the distance(in km) between the two stations?

Options:

520

120

130

420

Correct Answer:

520

Explanation:

Suppose both trains run only 1 hour then

 Covered distance = 50 + 80 = 130 Units

Difference in distance = 30 km

 30 km Unit → 120

   1 km Unit → 4

130 km Unit → 520 km
