A man can row downstream at a speed of 15 km/h and upstream at 11 km/h. Find his speed in still water and the speed of the current, respectively. [Give both your answers in km/h]

Upstream Speed = Speed of Boat – Speed of current

Downstream Speed = Speed of Boat + Speed of current

Given,

Downstream = 15 km/h

Upstream = 11 km/h

Upstream = Speed of the man - Speed of the stream = 11

Downstream = Speed of the man + Speed of the stream = 15

So,

2 × Speed of the man = 26

= Speed of the man = 13

So, speed of stream = 2
