Arrange the elements 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the generalized communication system in a sequence:

A. Receiver
B. Information source
C. User of information
D. Transmitter
Choose the correct answer from the options given below:
Answer & explanation
Correct answer: option 2
The correct answer is Option (2) → B, D, A, C
In a communication system the message starts at its source, is converted and sent out by a transmitter, travels through the channel, and is picked up and passed on at the other end.
Element 1: Information source (B) — produces the message
Element 2: Transmitter (D) — converts the message into a form suitable for the channel and sends it
Channel — the medium carrying the signal
Element 3: Receiver (A) — picks up the signal from the channel and recovers the message
Element 4: User of information (C) — the final destination of the message
So the order is B, D, A, C.
