Question:

In a class of 50 students and 6 teachers, each student got a number of chocolates that is equal to 16% of the total number of students, and each teacher got a number of chocolates that is equal to 12% of the total number of students. How many chocolates were there in total?

Options:

436

420

360

450

Correct Answer:

436

Explanation:

16% =  \(\frac{4}{25}\) & 12% =  \(\frac{3}{25}\)

Total number of students = 50

Total number of Teachers = 6

Chocolate each student got = \(\frac{4}{25} × 50 = 8

Total chocolates students got = 8 × 50 = 400

No. of chocolates each teacher got = \(\frac{3}{25} × 50 = 6

Total chocolates teachers got = 6 × 6 = 36

So , Total no. of chocolates = 400 + 36 = 436
