Question:

A sum of ₹ x was divided between A, B, C and D in the ratio $\frac{1}{3}: \frac{1}{5}: \frac{1}{6}: \frac{1}{9}$. If the difference between the shares of B and D is ₹832, then the value of x is:

Options:

₹7,592

₹7,384

₹7,696

₹7,488

Correct Answer:

₹7,592

Explanation:

Given,

A : B : C : D

\(\frac{1}{3}\) : \(\frac{1}{5}\) : \(\frac{1}{6}\) : \(\frac{1}{9}\)

⇒ Taking LCM = 90,

⇒ Now, A : B : C : D = 30 : 18 : 15 : 10,

⇒ B - D = (18 - 10) units = Rs. 832,

⇒ 8 units = 832,

⇒ 1 unit = Rs. 104

⇒ x = (A + B + C + D) x 104 = (30 + 18 + 15 + 10) x 104 = 73 x 104 = Rs. 7592.
