_____ programme is the largest biometrics programme in the world.

The correct answer is Option (1) → Aadhaar

Aadhaar, run by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), gives each resident a 12-digit number linked to their biometrics: ten fingerprints, both iris scans and a photograph of the face. With more than 130 crore numbers issued, it is the largest biometric identity programme in the world. Schemes such as Direct Benefits Transfer use Aadhaar to send money straight into the right bank accounts.
