Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaraman presented the union Budget 2022. There were a host of measures for a number of sectors, aimed at boosting growth amid high and rising inflation and continuing COVID uncertainties.
Few highlights
 
♠ Capex target expanded by 35.4% - from 25.54 lakh crore to 27.50 lakh crore. FY23 effective capex seen at 10.7 lakh crore.
♠ Top focus of the Budget this year are PM Gati Shakti.
♠ In 2022-23, states will be allowed fiscal deflicit of upto 4% of GDP.

The Pradhan Mantri Gati Shakti National Master Plan is a central government project, aimed to revolutionise infrastructure in India. Prime minister Narendra Modi announced the launch of the Gati Shakti Yojana, a Rs 100 lakh-crore project for developing 'holistic infrastructure' in India. The multi-modal connectivity will provide seamless movement of people, goods and services from one mode of transport to another. National Master Plan will facilitate the last mile connectivity of the infrastructure.
