Question:

The barrel of a pen is cylindrical in shape. The length of the pen is 7cm and radius is 0.7cm. A full barrel of ink in the pen can be used to write 500 words on average. The number of words written using a bottle of ink containing 0.2695 liter will be -

Options:

13,500

15,000

10,000

12,500

Correct Answer:

12,500

Explanation:

In 1 barrel of ink has volume = \(\pi \)r2h = \(\frac{22}{7}\) × (0.7)2 × 7 = 10.78 cm3

Now,

0.2695 liter = 269.5 cm3 = 10.78 × 25 = 25 barrels

Therefore, the number of words can be written = 25 × 500 = 12,500
