Question:

Sanjay and Sanjeev started a business by investing money in the ratio 5 : 3. After 3 months, Manish joined them by investing an amount equal to the amount invested by Sanjeev. At the end of the year the business has a profit of Rs.82,000. The profit (in Rs.) of Manish is :

Options:

20,000

24,000

18,000

27,000

Correct Answer:

18,000

Explanation:

The correct answer is Option (3) → 18,000

Sanjay's Investment = $5x$

Sanjeev's Investment = $3x$

CM = Capital Months = Investment × Time

Sanjay's CM = $5x × 12 = 60x$

Sanjeev's CM = $3x × 12 = 36x$

Manish's CM = $3x × 9 = 27x$

CM Ratio = $60x : 36x : 27x$

$= 20:12:9$

∴ Manish's Share = $\frac{9}{41}×82,000=18,000$
