Question:

Simplify (correct to 2 decimal places)

$\frac{(3.2)^2+(2.8)^2}{(3.2)\times (2.8)}$

Options:

1.05

1.82

2.02

2.85

Correct Answer:

2.02

Explanation:

Formula used :-

a² + b² = ( a + b )² - 2ab

⇒ $\frac{(3.2)^2+(2.8)^2}{(3.2)\times (2.8)}$

⇒ \(\frac{ ( 3.2 + 2.8 )² - 2 ×3.2×2.8  }{3.2 ×2.8}\)

⇒ \(\frac{ 36 - 17.92 }{3.2 ×2.8}\)

⇒ \(\frac{ 18.08 }{8.96}\)

= 2.01785

∼ 2.02

The correct answer is option (3) : 2.02
