Question:

In a bag there are coins of ₹2, ₹5 and ₹10 denominations. The total number of coins in the bag is 300. If the number of coins of ₹2, ₹5 and ₹10 denominations are in the ratio of 1 : 2 : 3, then what is the total amount of money in the bag?

Options:

₹2,100

₹2,500

₹3,000

₹2,400

Correct Answer:

₹2,100

Explanation:

Rs.2 : Rs.5 : Rs.10

  1   :   2    :   3

⇒ (1 + 2 + 3)units = 300

⇒ 6 units = 300

⇒ 1 unit = 50

⇒ 1 x 50 x Rs.2 + 2 x 100 x Rs.5 + 3 x 150 x Rs.10

100 + 500 + 1500 = Rs. 2100.
