Choose the correct answer from the options given below:
Answer & explanation
Correct answer: option 1
The correct answer is Option (1) → (A)-(III), (B)-(I), (C)-(IV), (D)-(II)
(A) Terracotta Models of the Plough — this matches (III) Cholistan. Terracotta models of the plough have been found at sites in Cholistan and at Banawali (Haryana), which shows that oxen were probably used for ploughing.
(B) Ploughed Field — this matches (I) Kalibangan. At Kalibangan (Rajasthan) a ploughed field of Early Harappan levels has been found, with two sets of furrows at right angles to each other.
(C) Traces of Canals — this matches (IV) Shortughai. Traces of canals have been found at the Harappan site of Shortughai in Afghanistan, but not in Punjab or Sind.
(D) Water Reservoirs — this matches (II) Dholavira. Water reservoirs found in Dholavira (Gujarat) may have been used to store water for agriculture.
