Question:

The population of a town is increasing at the rate of 10% per year. If the present population of the town is 1,00,000, what will its population be 2 years from now?

Options:

3,00,000

1,21,000

2,10,000

1,20,000

Correct Answer:

1,21,000

Explanation:

Present population = 1,00,000

Increased Population = 100000 × \(\frac{100+10}{100}\) × \(\frac{100+10}{100}\)

 = 100000 × \(\frac{110}{100}\) × \(\frac{110}{100}\)

= 121000

So , Increased Population = 121000
