Answer the following questions based on the table: In which of the following subjects is the average of the percentage marks obtained by the six students the highest?

Options:

Maths

Geography

Chemistry

Physics

Correct Answer:

Geography

Explanation:

Average of percentage marks of Physics = \(\frac{85 + 75 + 80 + 90 + 95 + 90 }{6}\)

=  \(\frac{434 }{6}\)

= 72.33

Average of percentage marks of Chemistry = \(\frac{90 + 75 + 60 + 85 + 90 + 90 }{6}\)

=  \(\frac{ 490 }{6}\)

= 81.67

Average of percentage marks of Maths = \(\frac{70 + 75 + 75 + 75 + 85 + 95 }{6}\)

=  \(\frac{475 }{6}\)

= 79.167

Average of percentage marks of Geography = \(\frac{80 + 85 + 85 + 90 + 90 + 90 }{6}\)

=  \(\frac{ 520}{6}\)

= 86.67

So , Average is highest for Geography.
