Question:

In a game of 100 points, A can give B 30 points and C 37 points, then B can give C ?

Options:

90 points

20 points

10 points

25 points

Correct Answer:

10 points

Explanation:

The correct answer is Option (3) → 10 points

Since A scores 100 when B scores 70,

$\frac{A}{B}=\frac{100}{70}=\frac{10}{7}$

Since A scores 100 when C scores 63,

$\frac{A}{C}=\frac{100}{63}$

$⇒\frac{B}{C}=\frac{A}{C}÷\frac{A}{B}=\frac{100}{63}×\frac{70}{100}$

$=\frac{10}{9}$

This mean B scores 10 points, C scores 9 points.

∴ if B plays upto 100 points,

$\frac{9}{10}×100=90$

∴ B can give C 10 points in a 100 point game.
