Question:

A sum of ₹12,992 is divided among A, B and C such that the ratio of the shares of A and C is 4: 15 and that of the shares of A and B is 2 : 5. The difference (in ₹) between the shares of B and C is:

Options:

3,136

2,240

2,688

1,792

Correct Answer:

2,240

Explanation:

Here,

A : B : C

4 : 15

2 :    :  5

4 : 10 : 15

⇒ (4 + 10 + 15) units = 12992

⇒ 29 units = 12992

⇒ 1 unit = 448

C - B = 15 - 10 = 5 x 448 = Rs. 2240.
