Question:

In a company there are only two types of employees, workers and officers. 35% of the employees are officers and the average monthly salary of an officer is ₹39,000 more than the combined average monthly salary of an employee. What is the difference between the average monthly salaries of an officer and a worker?

Options:

₹52,650

₹50,700

₹64,350

₹60,000

Correct Answer:

₹60,000

Explanation:

Lets assume Total No. of Employee in the company are 100

So, No. of Officers = 35

&    No. of worker  = 65

Further assume Avg. salary of a employee is x & salary  of worker is y

Salary of officer = x + 39000

⇒ 100x = 35 ( x + 39000 ) + 65y

⇒ 65y = 65x - 35 x 39000

⇒ y = x - 21000

So, difference b/w salary of officer and worker = (x + 39000) - (x-21000) = Rs. 60000
