Question:

PA and PB are two tangents from a point P outside the circle with centre O. If A and B are points on the circle such that ∠APB = 110°, then find the value of ∠OAB?

Options:

45°

55°

90°

110°

Correct Answer:

55°

Explanation:

∠AOB = 180° - 110° = 70°

In ΔOAB

As OA = OB

So ∠OAB = ∠OBA

∠OAB + ∠OBA + ∠AOB = 180°

∠OAB + ∠OBA + 70° = 180°

2∠OAB = 110°

∠OAB = 55°
