The length and breadth of a rectangle are in the ratio 3 : 2. If its perimeter is 730 cm, what is the area of the rectangle?

We know that,

Perimeter of rectangle = 2(L + B) , 

Area of rectangle = L × B

We have,

Perimeter of Rectangle = 730 cm 

Let,  the length = 3a

Breadth = 2a

2(3a + 2a) = 730 

= a = 73 

so , length = 3a = 3 × 73 = 219 cm 

Breadth = 2a = 2 × 73 = 146 cm 

Area of rectangle = 219 × 146 = 31974 cm²
